Permission was given for Six Strings (GB) to go early to post.
Approaching the line, Velvet Vista (GB), placed third, edged slightly left preventing Luke Morris, the rider of Baltic Prince (IRE), placed fifth, from riding out to the line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Velvet Vista (GB).
The winner, Six Strings (GB), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 6 March 2021, where the gelding finished sixth of eight, beaten 11¼ lengths.
Derek Shaw's explanation that Six Strings (GB) appreciated the return to Class 6 company off a further reduced handicap mark on this occasion was noted.
The gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Ella McCain reported that DON’T JUMP GEORGE (IRE), placed eighth, was never travelling and Marco Ghiani reported that Viola Park (GB), placed sixth, was denied a clear run approximately ½ furlong out.
