Permission was given for Diamond Bay (GB) to wear a red hood to the start.

Approaching the final furlong, Diamond Bay (GB), placed third, hung left-handed, briefly hampering Say It As It Is (IRE), unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Diamond Bay (GB).

Kieran Shoemark, the rider of Say It As It Is (IRE), which finished fifth beaten a head, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.

After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, Shoemark’s explanation that he felt the gelding had moved poorly throughout and he had been concerned that Say It As It Is (IRE) had lost its action in the closing stages, facts which he had reported at Scales, was noted.

The Veterinary Officer subsequently reported that a post-race examination of Say It As It Is (IRE), shortly after the race, failed to reveal any abnormalities.

Following the race, Nicola Currie reported that Rockstar Blonde (GB), unplaced, was slowly away and ran greenly and Tom Marquand reported that Diamond Bay (GB), placed third, hung left-handed.
