Approximately one furlong out, in going for a tight but legitimate gap, the winner, King Of Speed (IRE), made light contact with Local Music (IRE), placed fourth, causing King Of Speed (IRE) itself to become unbalanced and to nudge the quarters of Fieldsman (USA), placed third, which as a result, also became briefly unbalanced.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and it had not improved the placing of King Of Speed (IRE).
Following the race, Alistair Rawlinson reported that Island Native (IRE), unplaced, was unsuited by being tracked wide throughout and unable to find cover.
