Permission was given for Sir Min (IRE) to wear a red hood to the start.
Oliver Stammers, the rider of Sir Min (IRE), had fallen approaching the first bend.
Ryan Tate, the rider of Mahagoni (GB), placed second, and Jane Elliott, the rider of Rickenbacker (IRE), placed fifth, were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, but Stammers was unable to be interviewed due to receiving medical treatment.
It was found that the incident was accidental and caused by the pace steadying in front of a very free-running Mahagoni (GB) which lugged left-handed despite the best efforts of its rider to correct the gelding, causing Sir Min (IRE) to be momentarily tightened for room against the rail and lose its back end, resulting in Stammers being unseated.
Approaching the final furlong at the cut-away rail, the winner, Ever Given (IRE), shifted sharply left- handed before being corrected by its rider, heavily bumping I'm A Gambler (IRE), placed third, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Ever Given (IRE).
