Permission was given for Rebecke (IRE) to go early to post and to also wear a red hood to the start.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 5 furlongs out, involving Alaskan Bay (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Rob Hornby, Indian Affair (GB), placed second, ridden by William Carson, Islay Mist (GB), unplaced, ridden by Gavin Ashton and Rebecke (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Daniel Muscutt.
Being a 7Ib Claiming Apprentice, Ashton was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
The interference was found to be accidental due to a free running Alaskan Bay (IRE) shifting slightly left- handed onto the heels of Indian Affair (GB) when the pace was weakening, tightening Islay Mist (GB) onto Rebecke (IRE) causing Muscutt to take a check and be bumped against the rail.
Following the race, Stefano Cherchi reported that Maid Millie (GB), which started second-favourite and finished seventh, was slowly away.
