Permission was given for Graceful Thunder (GB) to wear a lip chain in the Parade Ring, for Existent (GB) to be mounted on the chute and for Equilateral (GB) and Tees Spirit (GB) to go early to post.
The winner, Tees Spirit (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 16 June 2024 where the gelding finished twelfth of sixteen, beaten by 6 lengths.
Adrian Nicholls’ explanation that Tees Spirit (GB) benefitted from the firmer going of Good, Good to Soft in places compared to Good to Soft, Good in places at Thirsk was noted.
The performance of Dream Composer (FR), which started favourite and finished placed fifth, was considered.
James Evans could offer no explanation for the gelding’s performance other than Joe Leavy reported that the gelding was never travelling.
Dream Composer (FR) was routine tested.
