An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, The Bonny Boy (IRE), ridden by Miss Alice Stevens and Tekap (FR), placed second, ridden by Mr Archie Wright.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved either horse’s placing as neither runner appeared to lose any momentum as a result of the interference, with contact between the two runners occurring close to the line and the official winning distance a neck.
The interference was found to be accidental as Tekap (FR) had initiated the interference when drifting slightly left-handed, making contact with The Bonny Boy (IRE) and causing that gelding to become slightly unbalanced and in turn lean back into Tekap (FR).
