Permission was given for Away For Slates (IRE) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring and for Captain Cobajay (IRE) to go early to post.
The winner, Sarasota Star (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Southwell on 8 June 2021 where the gelding finished sixth of seven, beaten by 27¾ lengths.
Martin Keighley's representative’s explanation that Sarasota Star (IRE) benefitted from the 108-day break was noted.
Following the race, Milton Harris reported that the race came too soon for Away For Slates (IRE), placed fourth, having only run 5 days previously and Donald McCain's representative reported that Cousin Oscar (IRE), which was pulled up, was unsuited to jumping fences on this occasion.
