An enquiry was held to consider the circumstances surrounding the vaccinations of Hard Solution (GB), trained by David O’Meara.
The Veterinary Officer and the trainer’s representative were interviewed.
Having heard their evidence, O’Meara was originally fined £140 and the gelding was withdrawn owing to the vaccinations seeming to be incorrect.
However, upon further inspection the Veterinary Officer reported that the primary course of vaccinations did provide adequate bio security cover.
Therefore, the Stewards ordered that Hard Solution (GB) should be reinstated and the fine rescinded, and a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Toby Eley reported that Global Hope (IRE), placed seventh, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Brigadier (GB), placed sixth, had lost its right fore shoe.
