Permission was given for Single (IRE) to wear a red hood to post.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, Happy (IRE), placed fourth, shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip carrying High Wells (GB), placed fifth, off its intended line, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Happy (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider interference on the run to the line involving Fox Vardy (USA), placed third, ridden by Rob Hornby, Happy (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Oliver Stammers, High Wells (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Adam Kirby, and Single (IRE), placed second, ridden by George Bass.
Bass was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to shift right-handed when under a left- hand drive without sufficient correction causing Kirby to become short for room and have to take a check.
