Leaving the stalls, the winner, Rocket Rodney (GB), jumped slightly left as Cuban Mistress (GB), placed second, jumped slightly right causing Bakeel (GB), placed sixth, Rumstar (GB), placed fourth, and Remarkable Force (IRE), placed fifth, to become short for room and be unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Rocket Rodney (GB) or Cuban Mistress (GB).
Approaching the final furlong, David Probert, the rider of Rumstar (GB), placed fourth, was forced to switch left-handed off the heels of EDDIE’S BOY, placed third, inconveniencing Remarkable Force (IRE), placed fifth, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Rocket Rodney (GB), ridden by Daniel Muscutt, interfered with EDDIE’S BOY, placed third, ridden by Hollie Doyle.
Muscutt was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift marginally right-handed without timely correction causing Doyle to take a slight check.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Eddie's Boy (GB), placed third, hung right-handed throughout.
