FormscanBy Gary Carson - LUCKY ZEBO is still relatively unexposed over fences and may be able to land a tricky looking contest here. The seven-year-old won his beginners chase here in fine style last July before a slightly unlucky effort in a rated novice contest at Wexford when hampered in the closing stages. He won his return over timber at Cork in late March and didn't run too badly at Punchestown early last month. Optional Mix ran well when chasing home the well handicapped Mousey Brown here just over two weeks ago and despite running from a few pounds out of the handicap she could be a big player. Gaelic Arc has been knocking on the door and is another to consider.
An extended handicap steeplechase for four years old and upwards
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap shall carry 7lb extra for each steeplechase won.
Riders - Confined to Professional & Claiming Professional Riders who have not ridden more than 15 winners under any N.H. Rules from 30th April, 2023 to 4th May, 2024 inclusive. (Qualified Riders are excluded from riding in this race) Should the winning horse in this race be entered to run in The Tote Galway Plate at Galway on July 31st, 2024, any entry, forfeit or declaration fees incurred will be refunded. Also, the winning horse in this race will be exempt from ballot from The Tote Galway Plate at Galway on July 31st, 2024 provided its weight after the preliminary ballot is 10st or above.
