Noel Meade completed an across-the-card double at Limerick today as his Miss Cognac landed the O'Kelly Brothers (Mares) Handicap Hurdle to follow up a win with the trainer's Faughernon at Leopardstown.
Twelve to one chance Miss Cognac scored an eight lengths win over 11/4 favourite and afterwards Meade's assistant Ted Walsh stated “she ran ok in Navan on her last run and she loves soft ground. The key was she got out quick enough and jumped great for Shane.
“It is a bit of a surprise but we thought she'd run well. She has already won her bumper and she is very game.”
