Declan McDonogh, fresh from victory in the feature event tonight at Galway, completed a quick double aboard Beau Satchel in the Caulfield Industrial Handicap.
Ado McGuinness' charge was winning for the third year running at the festival and was following up his victory in the same race 12 months ago.
McDonogh tracked the leaders on the 11/4 favourite and he was rowing along turning for home.
The six-year-old stayed on well to get his head in front inside the final furlong and record a three-parts-of-a-length victory over English raider Severus
"He's come here three times and three times he's won,” said McGuinness.
“He's in again on Saturday and in the big race on Sunday but I don't think he'll get in. I'll see on Friday if that race is cutting up and we might throw him in.
"He just loves this place and I wish I had a few like him."
The winner is owned the Total Recall Racing Club which is made up of a group of prison officers from Mountjoy jail.
