Global Racing justified 9/2 favouritism in the Follow Limerick Racecourse on Facebook (Q.R.) Handicap Hurdle with a clear-cut success.

The strong-travelling gelding assumed the lead before the second-last and outgunned the opposition by five lengths on the run-in with Anthony Fox on board. Live Every Day made a mistake at the last and could make no impression on the winner in second at 8/1.

Trainer Gavin Cromwell said: "He ran a cracker the last day, is a consistent horse and got his ground in an ideal race today. I fancied him and all the horses are running well.

"The loose horse helped him no end today.

"He's limited but please God he'll win another one."

20/1 shots Bye Bye O Bye and Cromwell's Allduckornodinner completed the placings in third and fourth respectively.

The Stewards interviewed Mr S. Cavanagh, rider of Live Every Day, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. S. Cavanagh was in breach of Regulation 10.3 (i), in that he used his whip without giving his mount sufficient time to respond. Having considered his record in this regard the Stewards suspended Mr. S. Cavanagh for one race day.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. L. Walsh , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr A.J. Fox , rider of Global Racing , weighed in at 1.5lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. A.J. Fox was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore suspended him for two race days.

The Stewards received a report from Mr. L. Walsh , Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that Mr H.D. Dunne , rider of Bye Bye O Bye , weighed in at 1.1lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that Mr. H.D. Dunne was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore cautioned him on this occasion having considered his previous record in this record in this regard.
