Donnas wins race number 9
Noel Meade registered his second winner of the day at Galway when Donnas Palm became the third winning odds-on favourite of the session in the www.swordsecurity.com (Q.R) Race.
Paul Carberry was aboard Meade's other winner, Prima Vista but this time it was his sister Nina who was employed with the task of getting the grey (4/7 into 4/9) home in front. This she managed but not without the eight-time previous winner giving his backers a scare.
The victorious Great Palm gelding was under pressure to close on Natural High before the straight but under a furlong out he got on top and went on to prevail by three and a half lengths.
Noel's brother Ben said: "His class came through. She had to shake him up a bit but he did it well in the end."
