Dark looks nice Prospect for Meade
English import Dark Prospect scored on his first start for Noel Meade when running out a game winner of the 1m2f handicap at Dundalk.
Tim Carroll had sent his mount to the front over two furlongs from home but he had to fight hard to secure victory. Wikaala emerged as a big threat before the furlong pole and the pair had a great tussle with Carroll getting his mount home by a neck.
"I'm a little bit surprised as I didn't think he was that wound up - he hasn't really done much," said Meade.
"He was bought to go hurdling but the owner didn't materialise and he was also held up a bit.
"I thought I would leave him to next season - give him a run or two on the Flat and put him away. We won't kill him on the Flat but he'll get a run or two.
"Tim claiming 10lb is a big bonus for a fella that can ride like him."
