Call Rog recorded his first win over fences as he got the better of his three rivals in the IT Sligo Student Day Rated Novice Chase.
The JP McManus owned six-year-old son of Beneficial was dropped back in trip to two miles and one today on his seventh start over fences.
Settled in second in the early stages he was sent to the front by Mark Walsh from the fifth.
He was joined four out but regained his lead after the second last and he was soon ridden clear, keeping on well on the run-in to score by seven lengths. Kilcarry Bridge finished second at 15/8 under Andrew Lynch for John Ryan while the 6/4 favourite Tulsa Jack was a well-beaten third, a further eleven lengths back under Paul Carberry for Noel Meade.
Winning trainer Mouse Morris said afterwards: "He jumped well, and it's a nice start to the season. He probably wants a bit further.
"It's the first time that I've been here for about 40 years. It was a lucky track for me, and I rode a good few winners here."
