Asigh Pearl takes opener
Asigh Pearl from the Noel Meade stable justified favourtism after she landed the opening race on this evenings card, the McCabes Garage Drogheda Mares Maiden Hurdle in the hands of Paul Carberry for owners John McDowell and Gerard Moore.
Winning trainer Meade said afterwards: “I was worried about the ground, the fact she fell the last day and of Otterstown Lady but she jumped poor and I’m the worst tipster.”
“She’s a nice mare and she likes goodish ground, she jumped great despite her fall at Kilbeggan the last day, she was very unlucky to fall.”
“Hopefully we’ll be able to win with her again and I think she’ll be able to hold her own with other mares.”
