Art Of America followed up a November win at Dundalk with another course and distance success over the Co Louth's 1m2f distance in the concluding Crowne Plaza Jockey&Trainer Awards Handicap today.
The Noel Meade trained son of American Post won two Gowran flat handicap on contrasting soft ground in October 2018 and today, ridden by capable 5lbs claimer Gavin Ryan, gained back-to-back Dundalk wins when holding on for a head win over fast finishing runner-up Muzbid
Afterwards Meade stated "It is great to come out the right side of a photo and he's done it twice.
“Gavin said he was a little bit flat today and didn’t pick up as well as he thought he might. He’ll probably come back here for another handicap and we might give him a little longer this time.
“He’s a good kid to take 5lb off. There is a serious bunch of apprentices coming through and we are so lucky to have them.”
Apprentice Ryan is due to move to recently retired Champion Jockey and soon-to-be-trainer Donnacha O’Brien in the coming weeks.
