Philip Bynes survived a worrying moment at the last aboard Aodhan May in the 2m6f handicap hurdle at Navan before she stayed on well to win decisively.
The 16/1 shot crept into contention and came to throw down the gauntlet to Clear The Clouds before the last.
Aodhan May took over just before jumping it, however, she jinked to her left and hampered Clear The Clouds. She got over it in the lead, though, and Byrnes was able to steer her home by a growing four lengths. Full Noise was always to the fore but looked to have given best between the final two flights, however, he got his second wind and finished well for second having been gambled on from 22/1 to 9/1. Clear The Clouds (4/1jf) dropped half a length further back to third.
Charles Byrnes said: "She does go on the ground and that's the secret.
“She was getting into it in Fairyhouse and got badly interfered with at the second last. She would definitely have been closer.
“She was off 82 and was 92 (91) over fences.”
