It was a suitable race being for second-season novices and the ground was key,. We had aimed for a race at Killarney this summer but it turned up soft, although he still ran well. That is his trip as well. We'll go to the November meeting in Cheltenham with him for a 0-145 which I think he'll get into and I would also love to go to Aintree with him too.

It was either run here or in Cheltenham yesterday in the race won by My Mate Mozzie but I wasn't just convinced that it might have been a fluke when we beat him at Fairyhouse. It suited to come to Galway and I'm delighted to see him win on that softer ground. He is something to look forward to and it is early in the year so I wouldn't get just excited yet but could go for a handicap at Leopardstown over Christmas. He likes fences, jumps, goes a good gallop and could eventually go for the Grand Annual at Cheltenham - I think that's the type of horse he is. The lads are from Mullinavat and previously owned Moon Dice (Galway Hurdle winner) with me.

The two lads in front went an unmerciful gallop, but Paul had told me to ride my own race if there was a lot of pace on and things worked out well. He had a good look when he got to the front but did it well in the end. It was my first time riding for Paul and that's my 7lb claim gone. It got very wet in Roscommon and I probably shouldn't have run him on that ground. The 2m5f probably just stretched him there as well. I really fancied him today and they went a real good gallop over this trip which suited him. He's won at Kilbeggan and now here and was unlucky at Killarney where he hit the rail, and he likes that type of track. The owners had Moon Dice with me and they'll probably be keen to go to Galway, so we probably will head there. He should make a good chaser in time.

He had his palate done and is a grand horse. He’ll be a better chaser. He wanted every yard of the trip and will come on for that run. Hopefully he’ll have a good summer and you’ll probably see him back here.

He is a grand horse and I got him from Peter Maher who is a lovely man and a great horseman who looks after his horses the best. I bought this horse's half-brother for €3,000 during the week so we must have had an idea this lad was going to win!. He has always run good races but was very nervy and Barry said he was very keen there. He always finished well and never ran a bad race but it was lesser company today. I thought he'd be rated 85 instead of 95 but can't say anything bad now and being left in this 0-95 was a big help. He'll be a much better chaser, is a serious leaper and there should be plenty more to come. The horses are running well, we have a few nice ones to look forward to and hopefully we'll get a few to Galway, including possibly this lad.
