After race at Fairyhouse Fri, 7th Jun, 2024 (1st)
Class is permanent and form is temporary! It's been a while since he won but he ran a great race in the premier handicap at Cork (last month), where he finished fourth,. We ran him in the Curragh the last day where he was drawn right out on the wing and he got very upset in the stalls and he ran very freely. He was in good form and we just felt that Fairyhouse would suit him, around a bend, that he'd be able to relax and drop it, which he did. Adam gave him a good ride, he was very cool on him. The plans for the boys are that they're always over for the end of July and that's where he'll go. I'll see what the handicapper gives him and we'll try and get him into those two big handicaps in Galway. If he's going to get in off his current mark I'll leave him but if not I might have to run him again. He's a horse of a lifetime and you just don't get many horses like him.

I might never get a horse like him again. He’s been fabulous to have and the lads are great supporters. He’s a Group 3 winner, a Listed winner, won a list of Premier Handicaps and taken us everywhere. He just loves this place and was unlucky in the Mile the other night. He’s just down to a very nice mark and we’ll probably try for the big handicap in Leopardstown. He’s won that before as well. Some of my horses were a bit out of form in June but they have come back and we always primed this fellow for here. We give him the same routine each year and try and prepare him for here. It works. I could make a case for everyone of the horses I ran today and On A Session’s trainer mustn’t like me as we keep beating him!. Laugh A Minute has run a cracker and watch him in the autumn for a good handicap on soft ground. Casanova didn’t get a clear run.

I fancied him because I thought he was the class horse in the race,. He ran a cracker last week in the Group 2 (fourth in the Minstrel Stakes at the Curragh) and I knew he was going to improve from it. He ran well the other night when Cian got blocked in. I love when you drop these Group horses back into handicaps like that. He's proved that he's a very good horse. They were travelling so well, they were running away the two of them, and I said 'they're going to have to sprout wings to catch them'. I know the hill takes a lot of getting but they were going that well and I was praying that they were going to kick. We had four in the first six (Laugh A Minute sixth) and I can't believe it. I'm delighted for all the lads again, they've been very good to me. They are over for the week and don't know when they are going to go home now after this!. I felt sorry for Cian the other day because he was to ride Sirjack Thomas but when he was reserve I put him on Current Option. We were going to change but I said no because I thought this horse would win and I'm delighted for Cian that he's got another premier handicap. He's a very good kid and he's a very good lad to ride. He gave him a smashing ride. Of course we got a big scare up the hill with the loose horse but it worked out great. We'll probably go to the Listed race next week in Cork because he won't carry a penalty. We did it last year so if all goes well we'll do it again and then give him a break.

that's my first Group winner on the grass; it's so easy after 20 years!. This is brilliant and is great for the lads; this horse keeps improving and we've had so much fun with him. It is great for the Dooley brothers in England and the late Bart O'Sullivan was a great supporter too and only for them I wouldn't be here. He wasn't a cheap horse (85,000gns at Tattersalls in July 2019) but he has well and truly covered himself long before today and today we are in bonus territory. We'll see what's on the agenda in Ireland but more than likely he will go out foreign to the the middle east for some of their festivals. We haven't killed him with racing this year either way and we'll sit back and think about things now.

After race at Cork Sat, 8th Aug, 2020 (1st)
I said he was a Stakes horse so he has proved me right; that's my first Listed winner and most horses I'd have for those races I'd usually sell, so it's great to be able to hold on to him. we weren't going to run and he was declared at the last minute as we found out Madhmoon and Sonaiyla weren't running so we said we'd give it a go. The big worry was he had two quick runs in Galway but he is tough. He is a smashing horse and we're going to have a lot of fun with him. He is progressing all the time and Gavin gave him a serious ride and settled him well. There is a Listed race in three weeks time at Leopardstown and then we'll probably find something for him on Champions Weekend and there's a Group 3 at Dundalk after that. He is very versatile ground-wise and I'm delighted for the lads that own him. He could go travelling later in the year, covid permitting.

He’s a very good horse and will probably go to Stakes company now. His work and Saltonstall’s was like chalk and cheese. The other horse came out and won the other day but the draw killed this horse. The draw is crucial here. The kid was very good on him again and I’ve had a week I’ll never forget with three winners. The Dooley’s and Bart (O’Sullivan), who started it all off, I have to really thank and the Shamrock boys are involved in this horse as well. I thought when he got 5lb (for finishing second) at the Curragh that it would goose us for Galway but I was wrong and he (the handicapper) was right! . I’ve never won a Stakes race before, so hopefully I have a few horses that are capable of doing it now.
