I told Rory Larkin (owner) that her target was the Irish National and she won here today with the prizemoney bumped up so it is great. She has the class and while she ran disappointed at Punchestown, everything went wrong for her then and I put a line through it and I was expecting a nice run today. She has a class pedigree and I knew when she'd step up (in trip), she'd improve. Today was the target and she is now a top novice over a trip so we'll see.

I told David that these might be a bit slicker than she is, more experienced that her, and to maybe wait a bit with her which he did,. The all got racing six furlongs out and David decided no and came late. That was the deciding thing. I was happy enough with her jumping even though she was maybe a bit sketchy at a few. I was expecting her to win and she did. She wants three miles but doesn't want winter heavy so we'll see where we go from here. There is supposed to be a good program for novice mares so we'll test that now. I'm thrilled with her, she's well bred and is a great mare really as she's won seven now. I was delighted with her jumping, she was a bit sketchy compared to Galway, but I was happy enough with her. We'll find a mares novice and I'll definitely try not to come back in trip.

She's a bit lazy and it's taken him a good while to put the cheek pieces on her! . She jumped well which is not like her. She's normally back underneath you and running around left and right and missing hurdles and the cheek pieces helped. Rory (Larkin) is a very lucky owner for us and she's won five now. She was a cheap enough buy and a lucky owner is just what you need.

She was in the two and a half mile handicap today but I said this race would suit better as it wasn't as competitive. She won a two mile bumper in Galway and it looked an easier route and it paid off,. She is definitely better over further and I said to David would two two suit her and he said it would, so I'd say my father's handicap (Paddy Mullins Mares Handicap Hurdle during the Dublin racing festival) is probably where she should go next. It is worth E80,000 so it would be nice to win that!

It’s grand that the ground stayed right for her as I don’t think she’s a heavy ground mare. It was her first handicap so I didn’t mind missing out the hurdles down the back!. Hopefully she’ll keep her form for something around Christmas. She got the trip well and picked up when the other one came at her. I wouldn’t be stuck on three miles and she could be best at around two and a half. I always thought a lot of her, so hopefully she’ll keep improving. She’s well-bred and nice to have her in the yard.

She showed she was a good mare in Galway; I always thought a lot of her but it just took a while to come. Her form In Killarney then wasn't too bad when the mare who was just in front of her won a black-type race in Gowran. I did put a line through her and Willie's mare (Mullins, Yukon Lil) on the day, whatever happened the two mares they just weren't on the top form. He (David Mullins, today) went on turning in because he didn't want any of the handicappers to fly by him; he said she wasn't jumping as well as everyone thought but she will get better and will be grand. Hopefully she can keep going in mares' hurdles for the year now and we'll see how high we can get her between now and Christmas. These races are a great incentive for new owners in the game with a smaller purse and they are vital for the smaller budget jumps man to stay in the game.

I always thought a good bit of her but it took a while to get her to this point. She was third at Gowran first-time out and took a while to get over that but is a lot stronger now in the last couple of months and has really come on stream. She is a well-bred filly and I doubt she'll go for a winners' bumper as I can't wait to get her hurdling. I think she's decent and now she's done the first bit.
