Jordan Nailor, the rider of Vulcan Bomber (GB), was unseated rounding the final bend.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no other horse or rider was involved and that the incident was caused by the gelding veering sharply left-handed.
An enquiry was held to consider the unruly behaviour of Vulcan Bomber (GB), which had veered sharply left- handed rounding the final bend and unseated its rider.
Nigel Twiston-Davies’ representative was interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
As the gelding had also hung sharply left-handed mid- race when unseating its rider at Hereford on 14 December 2019, Twiston-Davies was informed that any future similar behaviour from Vulcan Bomber (GB) may result in the horse being reported to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Nicky Henderson’s representative reported that Crystal Gazing (GB), placed fourth, had a breathing problem and the Veterinary Officer reported that Peddler (IRE), unplaced, finished lame on its left-fore.
