Bought out of Oxxs for 70,000 Euro at the Goffs Horses in Training Sale, Ardistan, a

half-brother to Azamour, showed that the family can do the business at a different

discipline too. It was expected that he would prove up to the task, backed from 9/2 into

9/4.

For a while it looked like he might hang fire, but once Polly Massini leaned out on him from

the back of the last, Alan Crowe's mount (great ride) seemed to be galvanised into action to

get up and score by a neck. Frank Berry, representing victorious owner J P McManus, said,

"he jumps a bit big (this race was over the easyfix hurdles) and he has his own ideas about

the job but he got it done there."

Polly Massini made a mistake three out but it didn't hinder her in the least. She was

out-speeded on the run-in and giving the winner plenty of weight, this was a perfectly

acceptable effort.

The rest were well-beaten off. Brave Inca's half-brother, Rebel Fighter didn't show

anything, pulling up before four out.
