Permission was given for Cheltenam De Vaige (FR) to go early to post.
The winner, Cheltenam De Vaige (FR), appeared to show an improvement in form compared with its previous run at Worcester on 17 August 2022, where the gelding finished eighth of nine runners, beaten 41 ½ lengths.
Fergal O’Brien’s representative explained that the gelding appeared to appreciate the quicker ground and returning to Newton Abbot.
Cheltenam De Vaige (FR) was routine tested.
Following the race the Veterinary Officer reported that Mr Mafia (IRE), placed second, lost it's right fore shoe.
