The winner, Justforjames (IRE), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Catterick on 1 January 2019 where the gelding finished eighth of eight, beaten 38 lengths.
Micky Hammond’s representative’s explanation that Justforjames (IRE) benefited from the step up in trip from 2m 3f to 3m 1f was noted.

William Kennedy reported that Lord County (FR), placed fourth, was never travelling and the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had post-race heat stress.
