The Stewards interviewed M.F. Mooney, rider of The Trigger, concerning his use of the whip between the last hurdle and the winning post. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that M.F. Mooney was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip above shoulder height and consequently suspended him for 2 racedays having taken his previous record into consideration..
