Cape Gentleman adds a beginners' chase to his CV
It's a great start and I couldn't ask for anymore. He had a good round of jumping, a little novicey mistake at the second last but hopefully he should learn from that and it'll stand to him going forward. It's good to see he took to fences and he could be an exciting novice going forward for the rest of the season. I haven't thought of any future plans but he's a high quality horse and we'll be looking at all the graded options anyway. He won his maiden hurdle on proper heavy ground here during the winter but if we have options we'll definitely be picking better ground. It's probably more of a worry whether we can go back left-handed again after Leopardstown last year. I'd like to forgive him the run but time will tell. He has a high cruising speed so I told Brian to buck out and go as fitness was on our side and he's a slick jumper in the main. Trip wise I'd say he'll be very versatile and I'd have no qualms about going up in trip. The Ascot Stakes was two-and-a-half on the Flat and he was still galloping at the line, he was actually caught flat footed that day. He's an exciting horse and we have plenty of options.

Cody eyes Cheltenham for Bell Ex One
I say the ground was as quick as he wants it and he was going as quick as he wanted all the way. Jack just loves him and says he's a proper horse. He said his jumping was electric today, he was shortening and going long when he wanted him to. He said he was a different horse completely. I'd say slower ground will be a big help to him. They went a good gallop but he was happy with him the whole way, he said even at the last he was long but he came for him. He said he was doing nothing in front from the last home, only idling. I'm delighted. If he won today the plan was to either go to Cheltenham for the November meeting or else go to Fairyhouse at the end of November. I think I might go to Cheltenham, if he's really good in the meantime, for the juvenile hurdle there. I think he'd love it around there. He just eats and sleeps and comes out of his races brilliant so we might go there, we'll see how he is. I think he's the best three-year-old so far anyway, so I'm delighted with him.

Quantum Realm different class to his rivals
It was a grand opportunity for him. He probably wasn't really a bumper horse with the way he jumps but he has his job done now. We'll try and find a little novice hurdle somewhere for him now and see what happens.

Lizlucky gets her winning bracket
She was very tough, she's as honest as they are made and she's a typical Flemensfirth filly. Two miles wouldn't be ideal and we were worried about the step back in trip today, especially on ground that was as quick as it was. If it had been two miles on soft we would have been fancying her but I did think she might get caught out for gears on that. It's a bonus that she didn't. She was headed and battled back to get her head up on the line. She'll go hurdling now and will be a lovely hurdling mare as she jumps great. She'll be a winter filly, maybe not real heavy ground, but soft ground won't bother her at all and two-and-a-half will be an ideal trip for her. We would have run over hurdles but we were waiting for an ease in the ground and this race came up today, a mares bumper, so we said we'd give her an entry in it. When it was good to firm we were reluctant but when it went to good we said we'd let her take her chance. It's great for Leo (McCormack) who owns her as he has the whole family, a full-sister and a half-brother and sister coming along as well. It's brilliant for the pedigree.
