Permission was given for It Girl (GB) to wear a hood in the Parade Ring.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference from approaching the final furlong when the winner, Cover Drive (GB), ridden by Oisin Murphy, interfered with Allegranza (GB), placed second, ridden by Ben Curtis.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Cover Drive (GB)’s placing as the colt always appeared to be holding Allegranza (GB) and was going away towards the finish with a length between them at the line.
Murphy was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed, when under a right-hand drive, without timely correction making contact with Allegranza (GB) and causing the filly to become unbalanced.
