Approaching the sixth last fence, a riderless Classic Escape (IRE) veered sharply right-handed, badly hampering Miami Present (IRE), placed second.
Following the race, Page Fuller reported that her saddle had slipped on Mister Mister (IRE), who she subsequently pulled up and Nathan Moscrop reported that Lough Salt (IRE), which was pulled up, had jumped poorly throughout and was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding had found it to be suffering from atrial fibrillation.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Miami Present (IRE), placed second, was showing signs of heat stress post-race.
