The performance of De Barley Basket (IRE), which started favourite before being pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Ben Pauling explained that the gelding was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft on the flat course crossings going on this occasion, which was subsequently changed to Soft following this race, and would be better suited by a less testing surface.
Their comments were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
The performance of It's For Alan (GB), which was pulled up, was considered.
Jo Davis explained that the gelding was unsuited by the Good to Soft, Soft on the flat course crossings going on this occasion, which was subsequently changed to Soft following this race, and would appreciate less testing conditions.
