The Stewards requested a report from W. McCreery, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Tylery Wonder, placed first, as compared with its most recent run at the Curragh on June 28th, when finishing 19th of 21 runners and was beaten by 14 lengths. The trainer reported that his charge is a very quirky horse that lost interest quickly at the Curragh in a large field of runners, in a race that started off at a very strong pace. He felt that the pace of todays race, with fewer runners, had brought about todays improved performance. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted it's content.

An extended handicap for four yrs old and upwards (85 = 9st 10lb)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap; shall not be less than 9st 10lb
Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra; for each race won Any horse rated above 85 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 9st 10lb. Subsequently, the excess over 85 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse.
