Permission was given for Ourmullion (GB) to go early to post; Locker Room Talk (IRE) wore earplugs throughout the race.
An enquiry was held into the running and riding of Sally Can't Wait (GB), ridden by Jeremiah McGrath and trained by Henry Oliver, which raced prominently early on until losing ground in the back straight and was staying on in the home straight before making a mistake at the penultimate flight, to finish seventh of the thirteen finishers, beaten by 23¾ lengths.
The rider and the trainer were interviewed and shown recordings of the race; the Handicapper offered observations and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated that he had been instructed to sit handy but to keep wide for the better ground and give the mare a good sight of the hurdles.
He added that Sally Can't Wait (GB) is an edgy sort but he was pleased with the way the mare had settled as the pace had picked up going into the first bend, but Sally Can't Wait (GB) was outpaced from halfway down the back straight as the leaders had quickened up again.
He further added that the mare was staying on one-paced when blundering at the second last flight.
The trainer confirmed the instructions, was satisfied with the ride given and he was pleased with the way Sally Can't Wait (GB) had shaped.
He added that although the mare is still immature, he would consider stepping Sally Can't Wait (GB) up in trip, perhaps on an easy track.
Their explanations were noted.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Cooling (GB), unplaced, finished lame on its right fore.
