Permission was given for Suanni (GB) to wear a red hood to the start and for both Twayblade (GB) and Ohnojoe (IRE) to go early to post wearing a red hood.
The Starter reported that The Grey Lass (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
Michael & David Easterby were informed that the mare could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that The Grey Lass (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the mare would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after the start when SUANNNI, unplaced, ridden by John Egan, interfered with Dandy Fitz (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Phil Dennis.
Egan was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without correction and when insufficiently clear of Dandy Fitz (IRE) causing the gelding to be taken off its intended line.
The winner, Snow Berry (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Thirsk on 7 June 2024 where the mare finished ninth of ten runners, beaten by 5½ lengths.
It was noted that Michael Appleby could offer no explanation for Snow Berry (IRE)’s improved form on this occasion.
The mare was routine tested.
Following the race, Laura Pearson reported that Ohnojoe (IRE), unplaced, jumped left-handed from the stalls.
