Permission was given for Presuming Ed (IRE) to go early to post.
Shortcross Storm (IRE) ran into some railing when entering the track.
Having been examined by the Veterinary Surgeon, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
The winner, Shortcross Storm (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Chepstow on 10 April 2021 where the gelding finished eighth of twelve, beaten by 48 ½ lengths.
Chris Honour’s explanation that the gelding benefitted from the first-time application of blinkers and being ridden positively was noted.
Shortcross Storm (IRE) was routine tested.
Bryan Carver, the rider of the winner, Shortcross Storm (IRE) was suspended for 4 days for using his whip above the permitted level and without sufficient time to respond from the penultimate hurdle.
Cillin Leonard, the rider of Emma Lamb (GB), placed fifth, was suspended for 7 days for using his whip when his mount was showing no response and with excessive force from the penultimate hurdle.
Being a 7lb claiming conditional, Leonard was offered the opportunity to have someone accompany him in the enquiry but declined.
Following the race, Cillin Leonard reported that Emma Lamb (GB), placed fifth, made a bad mistake 4 hurdles out.
