Jumping the third fence, Mahler's First (IRE), placed second, jumped into the back of Paddys Runner (GB), which was pulled up, hampering both runners, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of MAHLER’S FIRST (IRE).
The performance of Misty Mai (IRE), which started favourite and was pulled up, was considered.
David Rees explained that the mare was unsuited by the Heavy, Soft in places going which, in his opinion, was riding tacky and holding.
His explanation was noted.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Misty Mai (IRE) during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
