He loves that ground and David gave him a super ride. That could be it for this year, and if the ground is good in a months time he certainly won't be running. He'd a lovely racing weight.

The Stewards received a report from P.L. Malone , Turf Club Clerk of the Scales, regarding the fact that D.E. Splaine , rider of Mick The Jiver (GB) , weighed in at 1.3 lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned, who stated that he was doing a light weight and had a small drink after weighing out and furthermore his clothing was holding some kickback after the race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that D.E. Splaine was in breach of Rule 231 and they therefore cautioned him.
An extended novice handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards that are EBF eligible and that have not won a steeplechase before 1st May, 2016 other than one Hunters Steeplechase in the two previous National Hunt Seasons.
Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases after calculation of the handicap shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
