The Stewards enquired into an incident in the closing stages involving Halsafari, ridden by B. Hayes, placed first and Getaday, ridden by D.E. Mullins, placed second, where it appeared Halsafari drifted towards the running tail

Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards took no further action other than to advised B. Hayes to ride with more care in future

The Stewards fined Andrew McNamara, trainer, ?65 for failing to fit the declared head gear to Mandarin Monarch, prior to entering the parade ring.

A novice hurdle race for four yrs old and upwards which, at entry, are rated 106 or less (also open to horses, which at entry, are rated 107116)
Weights - 4-y-o 10st 2lb; 5-y-o and up 11st
Penalties - Performances before 12th March for every 1lb above the rating of 106 1lb extra; On or after 12th March for each hurdle race won 4lb extra; Note Horses that have not run three times over hurdles and/or do not have a published handicap hurdle rating may enter and run at the discretion of the handicapper provided their performances are rated 116 or less.
