An enquiry was held to consider why David O’Meara was running Infinite Grace (GB) here at Newmarket on going described as Good, Good to Firm in places, having declared the filly a non-runner at Pontefract on 10 June 2020 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer’s representative stated that, having walked the course at Newmarket, in their opinion the ground was more suitable for Infinite Grace (GB) on this occasion and they were therefore happy for the filly to take its chance.
Infinite Grace (GB), drawn 4, anticipated the start and accelerated the gate at the same moment as the race had been started, causing the filly to become unbalanced and lose many lengths at the start.
Being satisfied that it was not caused through a faulty action of the starting stalls, no further action was taken.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Intimate Moment (GB), unplaced, lost its right-fore shoe.
