An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner, Gosuatri (FR), ridden by Jonjo O’Neill Jr and Obey The Rules (IRE), placed second, ridden by Theo Gillard.

The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Gosuatri (FR)’s placing, as the gelding was passing Obey The Rules (IRE) at the time the interference took place as although Gosuatri (FR) shifted quickly right making contact with Obey The Rules (IRE) on two separate occasions, Obey The Rules (IRE) appeared to lose little momentum with Gosuatri (FR) going away at the line to win by an extending 2 lengths.

The interference was found to be accidental as O’Neill Jr’s mount shifted quickly right away from the whip, causing O’Neill Jr to lose his left rein resulting in him to be slightly slow to correct his mount.

The performance of Askinvillar (FR), which started second favourite and finished last of five runners, was considered.

Mark Gillard’s representative's explanation that the gelding was unsuited by the right- handed track was noted.

The rider, Theo Gillard further reported that the gelding hung left-handed.

The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
