he's good and consistent, is-what-he-is and has been knocking on the door over hurdles so it's great to finally win one. Aine's 5lb in those races is very valuable. I thought she gave him a fantastic ride, when they quickened she sat and waited, didn't get involved, gave him a chance and he came home strong. we ran him over a bit further before so we weren't worried about the fact that it was a stiff two miles here, we were pretty sure he'd see it out well and she rode him like that. The Stewards interviewed Matthew J. Smith, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Bective Cave. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he struggled to find a suitable rider and when the rider due to ride today was suggested to him he was unable to make contact with her and so no rider was nominated at the time specified and then he failed to nominate a rider not less than one and a half hours before time fixed for first race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards under the provisions of Regulation three ordered the withdrawal of Bective Cave and took no further action

The Stewards interviewed Miss R. Murphy, rider of Apple Crumble, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that she was in breach of the regulation and apologised for her actions. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Miss R. Murphy was in breach of Regulation 10.3.g, excessive frequency. Having considered Miss R. Murphy's record in this regard the Stewards suspended her for three racedays and ordered that she attend R.A.C.E for one days tuition on the correct use of the whip

The Stewards interviewed Miss S. Ahern, rider of Elegant Lass, concerning her use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who accepted that she was in breach of the regulation and apologised. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were satisfied that Miss. S. Ahern was in breach of Regulation 10.3.i, time to respond. Having considered Miss S

Ahern's record in this regard the Stewards suspended Miss. S. Ahern for two racedays

An extended handicap hurdle for four years old and upwards (123 = 11st 10lbs)
Weights - Top weight in the original handicap and after the time of declaration shall not be less than 11st 10lbs and the minimum weight shall not be less than 9st 12lbs
Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap shall carry 5lb extra for each hurdle race won.
Riders - 1. Lady Riders who hold a Licence under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim an allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 14th September) 2. Lady Riders who hold a Licence under National Hunt Rules to ride in hurdle races issued by any Recognised Turf Authority who have not ridden more than 60 winners (up to and including 14th September) 3. Lady Riders who hold a Category ''C'' Permit to ride under I.N.H.S. Rules 4. Lady Riders who hold a Permit to ride in hurdle races against Professional Riders issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority. The Stewards of the I.N.H.S. Committee have suspended the relevant parts of Rule 135 for the purposes of this race.
