The winner Slipway (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Doncaster on 16 December 2023 where the gelding finished tenth of eleven, beaten by 29 lengths.
It was noted that Ben Pauling’s representative could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Slipway (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, Sean Bowen reported that Statuario (GB), which was pulled up, ran too free.
