Permission was given for Absolutely Dylan (IRE) to go early to post.
Prior to this race, Emma-Jane Bishop was asked to explain the reason why she was running Glance Back (GB) here at Uttoxeter on going described as Heavy, having reported that the gelding was unsuited by a Soft, Heavy in places ground following its run at Leicester on 29 January 2020.
The representative of Emma-Jane Bishop explained that in hindsight, having won on ground with the official description as Heavy previously, they were happy for Glance Back (GB) to take his chance today.
Their comments were noted.
Grand Turina (GB) unseated Charlie Deutsch on the way down to the start.
Having been examined by the Doctor, he was deemed fit to race.
The winner Glance Back (GB), appeared to show improved form, compared with its previous run at Leicester on 29 January 2020 where the gelding finished fifth of eight runners, beaten by 46 lengths.
It was noted that the representative of Emma-Jane Bishop could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
Glance Back (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Louse Talk (IRE) which was pulled up, was considered.
The representative of Charlie Longsdon reported that the gelding was unsuited by the Heavy going on this occasion and would prefer a return to a quicker surface; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Louse Talk (IRE) failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, Henry Brooke reported that Absolutely Dylan (IRE), which was pulled up, was never travelling; Sue Smith reported that the gelding was unsuited by the Heavy going which in her opinion was too holding on this occasion.
