The Stewards interviewed D.E. Sheehy, rider of That's Not Me, concerning the fact that he appeared to move across before reaching the marker poles. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered evidence from the rider, the Stewards were satisfied that D.E. Sheehy was in breach of Rule 211 by failing to ride in a straight line from his draw position until the marker poles were reached. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.E. Sheehy

The Stewards enquired into the late withdrawal of I Am Superman (11.58 a.m.) where the excuse for the change in going was submitted by the trainer M.D. O'Callaghan. The Stewards had been informed subsequently that I Am Superman had never arrived at the racecourse. M.D. O'Callaghan admitted that his charge had never left his Curragh base this morning and through a combination of staff absenteeism, poor weather and a large number of horses to be ridden out, he had missed the deadline for withdrawing his charge in compliance with Rule 194 (iii)

He added that a family member had walked the racecourse earlier this morning and it was then decided that the ground would not be suitable, hence the excuse lodged for non running. Having considered all the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that M.D. O'Callaghan was in breach of Rule 194 (iii) and in accordance with the provisions of Rule 194 (iv)(a) they imposed a fine of ?320 on the trainer as this was his second breach of this rule in the same calendar year.
