Permission was given for Economic Crisis (IRE) and Northern Society (IRE) to go to post early.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final ½ furlong when Major Pusey (GB), placed second, ridden by Paddy Mathers, interfered with Dapper Man (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Rowan Scott, which in turn interfered with Royal Brave (IRE), placed third, ridden by Sam James.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Major Pusey (GB) as Royal Brave (IRE) lost no momentum and was beaten a neck for third.
The interference was found to be accidental as Major Pusey (GB) lugged left in a tightly packed field before being quickly corrected.
Approaching the line, the winner Economic Crisis (IRE) edged left causing Northern Society (IRE), placed fifth, to be crowded for room and ease momentarily, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Economic Crisis (IRE).
Following the race, Paul Mulrennan reported that Choosey (IRE), unplaced, weakened quickly from 2 furlongs out.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding during routine testing failed to reveal any abnormalities.
