David Allan, the rider of Thakuri (IRE), placed fourth, had appeared to stop riding shortly before the winning post.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident, the Stewards noted the explanation given by Allan that the winner had slowed in front of him which caused him to momentarily ease and take off heels, which he had reported at scales on his return to weigh in.
The winner Without Delay (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Redcar on 17 June 2022 where the filly finished fifth of nine runners beaten 9 lengths.
The Stewards noted the explanation given by Tracy Waggott that Without Delay (IRE) was suited by being ridden more prominently on this occasion.
Following the race, Daniel Tudhope reported that KATA HEART’S, placed sixth, had lost its action; the Veterinary Officer reported a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
