The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Peace N' Milan, trained by F. Flood, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be Post Race Normal. A.E. Lynch, rider of Peace N' Milan trained by F. Flood, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount didn't handle the ground. D.E. Splaine, rider of Miss Benefitz trained by Kevin O'Sullivan, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount ran free, hung left and made a bad mistake 2 out. The Stewards interviewed Lorcan Joseph Donnelly, trainer of Flemenspower, regarding the late arrival of the horse into the Parade Ring and subsequent delay to the start of the first race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he got a puncture travelling to the races and lost about an hour trying to get the wheel off and the tyre replaced, and he apologised for his horse being late into the parade ring and delaying the race. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion Lorcan Joseph Donnelly was in breach of Rule 32 (ii) and they cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. The Stewards requested a report from Edward P.Harty, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of More Than Ever, winner, as compared with its recent form. The trainer reported that his mare showed improvement today as a result of running on better ground, in what was a weak race in which the favourite disappointed. Having considered the report, the Stewards noted the explanations offered.
