An enquiry was held to consider why Stuart Williams was running Agent Shiftwell (GB) here at Windsor on going described as Heavy, Soft in places, having declared the colt a non-runner at Great Yarmouth on 14 October 2019 on ground with the same official description.
The trainer stated that Agent Shiftwell (GB) had been declared to run over 6 furlongs at Great Yarmouth and following significant rainfall after declarations the going had deteriorated to Heavy, Soft in places.
However, on this occasion, the colt would be running over 5 furlongs and he was therefore happy for Agent Shiftwell (GB) to take its chance.
Following the race, the representative of Richard Hughes reported that Brenner Pass (GB), which started second favourite and finished third, was unsuited by the ground, which was officially described as Heavy, Soft in places on this occasion, and would prefer a faster surface.
Tom Marquand reported that Vitare (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
